Introduction to Winemaking

Learn how to make your own wine with our Introduction to Winemaking class held every September. Class is located at 10 Robert Jackson Way, Plainville, CT 06062. There is a class limit of 25 people, and a minimal fee is required.

Class will be taught by Rich Loomis, co-owner of Brew and Wine Hobby of East Hartford, CT. This class will cover the basics on what you need to know on how to make quality wines at home. You will also learn how to use a wine press and have the opportunity to press in stock wine grapes. A tour of our facility will be given and wine grape sampling will be available for all in stock varieties. Topics will include…

Pressing
Fermentation
Sanitizing
Racking
A discussion of wine-making processes
A discussion of wine kits
Handouts will be provided, along with coupons for wine equipment.

Cheese, Fruit and Crackers will be served. We provide plenty of parking spaces
